<p>We require water to breathe; our body loses around one pint of liquid every day just by breathing out. </p>
<p>To show you how important water is, we have asked Doctors across the United Kingdom for their opinion: </p>
<p>By not drinking enough water, lots of people encounter a multitude of problems like poor muscle tone and size, excess body fat, decreased organ function and digestive efficiency, increased body toxicity, muscle and joint soreness (especially following exercise) and retention of water itself.</p>
<p>Proper water intake is one of the keys to proper weight loss. If dieters don&#8217;t drink enough water, fat cannot be metabolized in the body, fluid is maintained, meaning that the subject’s weight remains high and the whole framework that was trying to be set up completely falls apart.</p>
<p>I would say with certainty that the absolute minimum amount of water that a healthy person should drink is 10 x 250ml glasses a day (a total of 2.5 litres). People who are overweight need to extra 250ml of water for every 1.5 stones that exceeds their ideal weight. For example, a person who is 3 stone overweight would need to drink an absolute minimum of 12 x 250ml glasses of water every day.</p>
<p>Your water consumption should be spread out evenly throughout the day, including the evening. Don’t drink more than 4 glasses in any given hour and I can’t stress the importance of consulting your General Practitioner before beginning a programme of increasing your water intake.</p>
<p>You may ask, &#8220;If I consume this amount of water, won&#8217;t I be constantly running to the toilet?&#8221; To start with, yes, because your bladder will become hypersensitive to increased fluids. But after approximately one month, your bladder will calm down and you urinate much less frequently, but in greater amounts. </p>
<p>Beware! There is a big difference between water that is pure and other drinks that contain large amounts water. </p>
<p>Water is water, dihydrogen monoxide, Oxidane, Hydrogen Hydroxide, H20: plain and simple. Obviously you can get to water by drinking soft drinks, beer, fruit juice, tea or coffee. Unfortunately, while these drinks’ main constituent is water, they also contain substances and chemicals that are definitely not healthy and may actually counter some of the good, positive effects of the water in them. </p>
<p>Beer contains quite a bit of water, but also contains alcohol, which is a substance that is toxic. Drinks that contain caffeine, such as stimulant drinks or coffee, stimulate the adrenal glands. These drinks may tax the body more than cleanse it.</p>
<p>Increasing your water intake is almost definitely key to help you with your weight loss. Start drinking more water today and you could reach your target weight sooner than you think!</p>
